As members of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and students at the University of Pennsylvania, scholarship is an extremely important aspect of our everyday lives. Beginning in the creed of Alpha Delta Pi, “…recognizing the value of high academic standards,…”, we place a great deal of importance on striving to receive the highest academic accolades possible. Our chapter provides information about tutoring, dedicated weekly study hours, chapter and campus resource information and motivational programs to encourage our sisters to be the best that they can be.
Our chapter GPA is consistently above the all-women’s GPA at Penn and we strive to maintain this and continue to improve on this average each semester. Penn is an academically challenging environment, but through our sisters’ support and guidance we have been able to continue to thrive and succeed.
We are a diverse group; we have members in every school of study at Penn and also have many in undergraduate scholar programs. This includes one sister in the Management and Technology Program, two sisters in the Vagelos Scholars Program in the Molecular Life Sciences, one sister in the Vagelos Scholars Program in Life Sciences and Management, four sisters in the Huntsman Program, a number of sisters who are Civic or Benjamin Franklin Scholars, one University Scholar, and many sisters enrolled in dual-degree programs. Since we have sisters pursuing many different career paths, we are able to help each other attain our scholarship goals while still balancing many other commitments in clubs, work, sports teams all while still being able to enjoy the events Alpha Delta Pi offers. We live for each other, and by living for each other, we are always there to lend a shoulder to cry on, a give a motivational speech, study together and have fun together! Scholarship is a main priority for us, but we still can enjoy our college years because of educational programming and our sisters’ love and support.
